Small Face

Open for business!

Added 28 May 2009

Today is ‘Take Your Customer to Work Day’. For those of you that haven’t heard of it, it’s a new initiative created by Sean Hazell, encouraging companies to open their doors and invite customers into their workplace to meet employees and better understand how their business works. What a great idea! It’s still very early days for the initiative, but it has garnered the support of some impressive companies, including Zappos, the online clothing and footwear store and Steam Whistle Brewers.

We’re somewhat embarrassed to admit we didn’t make a special effort to bring our clients into the office today (we promise to do better next year!). But we fully support the ethos behind the initiative: ‘a day of trust and building consumer confidence with openness’.

At Six Degrees, we like to think that every day is ‘Take Your Customer to Work Day’ and we love nothing more than the additional buzz and energy created by having a client working alongside us. In fact, hardly a day goes by when we don’t have a client in the office.

PR may be an art or a science: but it’s certainly isn’t a ‘dark art’. Anything that builds an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect between the agencies and clients is fine by us. By working together as closely and openly as possible, we achieve the best results for our clients. It’s an ethos we’ve adhered to since the agency was founded 30-plus years ago.

Here’s to another year of taking our customers to work (and to marking next year’s Take Your Customer to Work Day rather more officially)!
