Roger Staton, Chairman of Six Degrees Ltd, has been elected Chair of the Thames & Chiltern regional committee of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Roger will be leading the regional committee that looks after the interests of the CIPR and its nearly 600 members in Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. “With the recent granting of Chartered status, the CIPR is becoming even more important in advancing the PR profession and raising standards,” commented Roger Staton. “National membership is 8,000 and rising, and I look forward, with the help of my committee, to supporting the needs of members in our region.” Roger has been involved in PR and communications in the science, engineering and technology fields since the 1970s. He has a degree in electrical engineering, and was formerly a technology journalist and editor. In 1977 he founded one of the UK’s first PR firms to specialise in the technology and industry field which rebranded in 2004 to become Six Degrees Ltd. Roger was elected a Fellow of the CIPR in 2004. |
