Six Degrees, is working with TNT Post to promote the mailing giant’s collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme’s annual fundraising and awareness event – End Hunger: Walk the World.
PR activity will focus on the UK event on 1 June, to be held in Windsor Great Park, Berkshire and will encourage as many families, children and people living and working in and around the area to get involved in the 5k Walk. Amanda Hassall, Director for Six Degrees, says: “This is the world’s largest annual global fundraising event and takes place in more than 90 countries around the world, attracting over half a million people. With 400 million hungry children in the world today and so many others suffering in disaster zones like Burma and China, we feel this is a real opportunity for people to come forward and do their bit. We hope as many as possible will come and join us on 1 June.” ITV sports personality Jim Rosenthal will kick off this year’s event, followed by an afternoon of activities and family entertainment including music, food, games and competitions and a performance of the West End hit The Lord of the Dance! Walk the World is the main fundraising event from the partnership between TNT, which employs more than 180 staff at its offices in Globeside Park, and the World Food Programme, which first began in 2001.
